How to Use a Female Condom: A Step-by-Step Guide

A female condom, also known as an internal condom, is worn inside the vagina during sexual intercourse. It can be used for contraception and helps protect against the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Step 1: Inner and outer ring

The Female Condom consists of a pouch, an inner ring for insertion and an outer ring. The inner ring helps hold the condom in place, while the outer ring covers the external genitalia.

Step 2: Squeeze

Squeeze the edges of the inner ring together to form a point.

Step 3: Insert

Insert the squeezed inner ring into the vagina.

Step 4: Push into position

Push the inner ring as far as possible into the vagina. Make sure the condom is not twisted.

Step 5: During sex

Carefully guide the penis into the condom. 
Additional lubricant can be used if the penis becomes stuck, if the outer ring is pushed into the vagina or if you hear noises during sex. 

Take care with sharp fingernails and jewellery, as these may tear the condom.

Step 6: Remove

After intercourse, hold the outer ring, twist it and gently pull the condom out.

Step 7: Dispose

Dispose of the used Female Condom in the bin.
Do not flush it down the toilet. If it enters the drainage system, it can harm the environment.
The Female Condom is intended for single use only. Do not clean or reuse it.
